CUSTOM ART CRATES, BUILT IN TORONTO
In the art world the crate is a point of pride, and it should be — it is the only thing between a work and the rest of the world. We build ours in our own woodshop, to the work, rather than fitting a painting into a box that already existed.
Construction is specified to the piece: padding, bracing and interior fittings against its dimensions, weight and fragility. A large-format canvas gets a foam-lined travel frame; a fragile sculpture gets a fitted cradle and a slat crate; a panel painting gets rigid faces and floating corners. Crates are screwed rather than nailed so they can be opened at the far end and closed again for the return.
Where a work travels often, a reusable ROKBOX is cheaper and greener than a new crate every time.

HOW LONG DOES A CRATE TAKE TO BUILD?
Usually 5-7 business days depending on the complexity once we have the final dimensions. We can usually accommodate a rush project if required for an additional fee.
ARE YOUR CRATES COMPLIANT WITH INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING REGULATIONS?
Yes, our all-plywood construction crates meet the phytosanitary regulations of all international customs agencies.
CAN YOU STORE THE CRATE BETWEEN SHOWS?
Yes, in our downtown facility, so an empty crate is not taking up your storage room.
